A new PhD is starting

Lanhezidou Pignan has started a PhD entitled "The strategic management of the patrimonial function of agricultural organizations: the case of the coffee sector within the West African economic area".

Lanhezidou Pignan's dissertation, conducted within the framework of an Industrial Convention for Training through Research (Cifre) in partnership with Financière Saint Antoine SAS, proposes to study the structure of the socio-economic environment around coffee produced within the West African economic space. By applying the theoretical framework of strategic management to agricultural organizations, the work to be carried out during this study will make it possible to analyze the organization of the value chain as well as the stages and means of valorization of West African coffee. It will also allow for an analysis of which state, union, collective or private organizations can best accompany this valorization in order to allow coffee farmers to transform their work into sustainable economic value. The unity of this work will be based on the patrimonial function of agricultural organizations, especially since the net export of coffee is no longer sufficient to develop a sustainable West African coffee industry based on the social and solidarity economy (SSE). The thesis is co-supervised by Damien Rousselière and Sandrine Stervinou.
