PhD topic

Assessing the impact of climate risk on business performance and economic growth: the role of the agricultural sector

First, the thesis will focus on mapping the value chain of French companies linked to the agricultural sector in order to better understand the impact of various climate risks on the sector. Then, an empirical study will be conducted using different econometric or Machine Learning techniques to assess the impact of climate risks on company performance, according to the nature of the risks and the different characteristics of the companies. Finally, a stochastic general equilibrium model with heterogeneous agents will be developed to assess the resilience of the economy to climate risks and evaluate the optimality of public policies while accounting for the heterogeneity of companies.
